Temmler Group continues to grow

Marburg. The Temmler Group headquartered in Marburg acquires two additional production sites which further expand its know-how and range of services in contract manufacturing, in particular in the field of semi-solid formulations. This take-over makes the Temmler Group one of the largest full service contract manufacturers in Europe. The Temmler Group reached an agreement to take over C.P.M. ContractPharma, which operates two sites in Feldkirchen and Bruckmühl, retrospectively to January 1, 2007. C.P.M. is one of the largest contract manufacturer in the field of semi-solid formulations, and in addition to the production of semi-solid, liquid and solid pharmaceutical pharmaceutical dosage forms also offers the complete production and management of a product up to its marketing authorisation. The family-owned business thus fits seamlessly into the Temmler Group which has expanded considerably since early 2007. All 150 employees and the management who were formerly part of the newly-acquired company were taken over as a consequence of the acquisition, increasing the number of employees in the Temmler Group to a total of 750. Turnover is expected to grow in excess of € 150 million. With the acquisition of the Munich and Killorlin (Ireland) sites in January, Temmler was able to almost treble its production capacities for solid pharmaceutical dosage forms such as capsules, tablets and film-coated tablets (also in retard form). The acquisition of the Carugate site in Italy, and now with the two new C.P.M. production sites, will provide Temmler with the opportunity to further develop its business field of semi-solid and liquid pharmaceutical dosage forms which, based on solid basic business, is expected to yield excellent growth opportunities. With CPM ContractPharma GmbH & Co. KG joining the Temmler Group, CPM continues to remain an independent operative unit with current commitments to customers and supplier relationships remaining valid. In addition to the contract manufacturing and development business units, Temmler will offer its clients in Germany and Ireland warehouse logistics and direct distribution services to almost all pharmacies and chemist's shops. As a special service, the Temmler production site in Munich also offers the manufacture and world-wide distribution of clinical trial products. This service can also be offered for biotech products. Temmler has been developing, producing and marketing its own medicinal products since 1917 and offers this service to other pharmaceutical companies with increasing success. Temmler's long-time know-how in the development and production of retarded pellets is a key factor in pharmaceutical competition. With these newly acquired sites, the Temmler Group has become one of the largest European suppliers in contract development, contract manufacturing, production of clinical trial products, warehouse logistics and distribution in the pharmaceutical field.
