The 52nd Annual Meeting of the German Society for Clinical Neurology and Neurophysiology (DGKN- Deutsche Gesellschaft für Klinische Neurologie und Neurophysiologie) took place in Magdeburg from April 10 to April 12, 2008. Over a period of 3 days, some 60 exhibitors presented interesting innovations from the medical and medical technology fields. Temmler Pharma was also exhibiting again this year and attracted a great deal of attention with its research prize and symposium on the issue "Rare neurological disorders". Researchers from all over the world are trying to determine the cause of myasthenia to assist them with developing a treatment aimed at reversing the causal factor in the disease. Temmler Pharma supports these research activities by awarding a junior research prize once a year. Together with the German Society on Muscle Disorders (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Muskelerkrankungen -DGM) upcoming researchers are awarded for their work in the area of rare muscle disorders, in particular myasthenia gravis. This year the award ceremony took place in Marburg during the Annual Meeting of the German Society for Clinical Neurology and Neurophysiology. The 2008 prize donated by Temmler and valued at € 2,500 was awarded to Dr. Rudolf Kley from the University Clinic Bochum. ![]() Caption: (left to right) Melanie Kornder, Product Manager Temmler Pharma, Dr. Rudolf Kley, Awardee from Bochum, Anne Kreiling, 1st Chairperson DGM Freiburg, Prof. Dr. Reinhard Dengler, Hanover, Prof. Dr. Bernhard Neundörfer, 2nd Chairperson DGM Freiburg |
