Bensheim, 23rd June 2008 The Temmler group, with its parent company, Temmler Werke Holding GmbH, continues on its expansion course. With the acquisition of the SwissCo Group, retrospective to the 1st of January 2008, a further step was taken to establish Temmler as one of the leading contract manufacturers and service providers in the European pharmaceutical field. The contracts were signed today. ![]() With this acquisition, the Temmler Group expects a combined turnover of €190M. It will have 900 employees engaged in a broad diversified range of operations, in pharmaceutical production, services, and logistics. Temmler's range of production capabilities is now technologically expanded by a further specialized production facility, Production at Dryroom Conditions. The additional capacities and technical possibilities, reinforce and enhance the important position of the Temmler Group, in the market of pharmaceutical contract manufacturing. Last year Temmler trebled its production capacity of solid dosage forms like capsules, tablets, and coated tablets, as well as controlled release formulations, by the acquisition of the plants in Munich (Germany) and Killorglin (Ireland). With the acquisition of the plant in Carugate (Italy), and both production plants of C.P.M. ContractPharma in Feldkirchen and Bruckmühl, Temmler expanded its business in liquid and semi-solid forms. In addition to contract manufacturing and development services, Temmler Group offers its customers in Germany, and Ireland, a comprehensive logistics service, ranging from storage to distribution direct to retail pharmacies. In addition, Temmler Werke Munich offers, as a specialized service, the production and worldwide distribution of clinical trial materials. This service can be also offered for Biotech products. ![]() The SwissCo Group is a Swiss company, with its headquarters in Sisseln, near Basel. With about 141 employees, SwissCo reached a sales revenue of about 36 million Swiss francs. The company is a specialized contract manufacturer in the production and development of highly innovative pharmaceutical products, as well as food supplements. SwissCo has concentrated in particular, on the handling of moisture-sensitive active substances, and the production of effervescent tablets. SwissCo’s particular competency isthat it can regulate and control its complete production area, to a maximum humidity of only 15 percent.
